Our Team

James M. Childress, CFA

President & Managing Director

Jim's primary responsibilities include oversight of client services, and he is also involved in security selection and investment strategy for the firm. With more than 30 years of professional investment management experience, he co-founded Old Dominion Capital Management in 1989 after working as an investment broker with A.G. Edwards and Sons, Inc. A graduate of the University of Virginia, he received the Chartered Financial Analyst designation from the CFA Institute.

Jim first came to Charlottesville to attend the University of Virginia and has lived there ever since. Very active in the local music scene, he plays the fiddle in an old-time string band, Uncle Henry's Favorites, and has been involved with both the Country Dance and Song Society and Pinewoods Camp, Inc. for years. Jim is also an amateur naturalist; he organizes a local spring bird count, participates in educational events for the public, and is researching dragonfly species in Albemarle County.

Mauree L. Barrett, CFA

Senior Vice President, Portfolio Manager, & Chief Compliance Officer

Maurée's primary responsibilities include daily client account reviews, implementation and monitoring of client accounts with investment policies, and trading of securities. Prior to joining the firm, she worked in the investment area of the First Union National Bank Trust Department with client portfolios, investment policy and recommendations, and securities trading. A graduate of the University of Virginia, Maurée received the Chartered Financial Analyst designation from the CFA Institute.

Maurée has lived in Virginia for most of her life and currently resides in the Charlottesville area with her husband and twin daughters. She enjoys reading, fitness, and live music.

Jeffrey P. Blatter, CFP®

Vice President, Investment Counselor

Jeff’s primary responsibilities include client service and financial planning for Old Dominion. Prior to joining the firm, he provided income tax return preparation and analysis for clients, and as an enrolled agent, represented clients in the resolution of tax disputes. He also has extensive experience as a Montana trout fishing guide.

A graduate of Virginia Tech, Jeff was raised in Albemarle county Virginia. After having spent thirty years out west, Jeff has returned home and is now living in Crozet with his wife Karen.

Laura L. Brier

Operations Manager

Laura is responsible for assisting our clients with all administrative account matters, as well as taking care of general office duties. She welcomes all guests and provides a positive experience to anyone visiting our office. Laura also assists the entire team by ensuring all office systems are maintained and operating smoothly.
Prior to joining the firm, she was a customer service representative, and Team Lead, at AB&C Group, Inc. A native of Virginia, Laura has lived in the Charlottesville area with her husband and daughter for the past 13 years. She enjoys playing softball, taking walks with family, and reading. In her spare time, Laura volunteers with the Girl Scouts of America and at her daughter’s school.
Michael J. Ginty, CFP®

Vice President, Investment Counselor

Michael's primary responsibilities include client service and financial planning for Old Dominion. Prior to joining the firm, he worked as a financial advisor in the Philadelphia area, specializing in high-net-worth executives and professionals. He is a graduate of Virginia Tech and has received the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification from the CFP Board.

Michael grew up in Vienna and returned to Virginia after living and working in the Philadelphia area for seven years. He now lives in Palmyra with his wife, Donna, and their children.

W. Noell Michaels
Senior Vice President & Director of Business Management

Noell is primarily responsible for the overall growth of the firm. With a background in financial
management and broad business leadership experience, including working directly for a family office, NoeII leads the firm's engagement efforts with prospective clients. He is a former Naval Officer and holds a BSBA degree in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from the University of Virginia's Darden School.
NoeII and his wife have lived in the Charlottesville area since 2003, and they have two adult children. He enjoys reading, mountain biking, and UVA Baseball.
Breanna R. Payne
Assistant Vice President, & Compliance & Trading Officer
As Compliance & Trading Officer, Breanna assists with monitoring and updating the firm’s comprehensive compliance program and making necessary regulatory filings.  She also works with the Portfolio Manager to invest client accounts.  Breanna began her career in the financial industry in 2006. She is a graduate of Liberty University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Breanna came to the firm after working for a large Private Wealth Management office where she specialized in client service, operations, and project management.
After living on the Pacific Coast for a short time, Breanna is pleased to call Virginia home and currently resides in the Keswick area with her husband and young son.
Ernest Rockey, Jr.

Vice President, Investment Counselor

Ernest's primary responsibilities include client services. A graduate from La Salle University with a focus in finance and economics, he has over 20 years experience in financial services, including 14 years as a financial consultant at Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. He has lived in Arlington for the past 15 years and enjoys hiking, skiing, and woodworking – not to mention being married and raising two children.
Tiffany N. Ung, CWS®

Vice President, Investment Counselor

Tiffany’s primary responsibilities include client service, financial planning, and business development for Old Dominion Capital Management, Inc.  Prior to joining the firm, she worked as a private banking advisor for Union Bank & Trust since 2007.  Tiffany is a Certified Wealth Strategist (CWS®).

A graduate of James Madison University.  Tiffany was raised in Fairfax.  After having spent nine years in other parts of the state, she now works in our Alexandria office.

In Memoriam: Alfred ''Pete'' C. Morley, CFA
In Memoriam: Alfred "Pete" C. Morley, CFA served as senior director of Old Dominion Capital Management, Inc. from 1989 until 2002. He was a past president and CEO of the Association for Investment Management and Research, the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts, and the Financial Analysts Federation. He also served on the board of directors of two New York Stock Exchange traded funds: the Thai Capital Fund, Inc. and the Singapore Fund, Inc. He had over 50 years of professional investment experience and had served as the president of the Frank Russell Investment Management Company, chairman and chief executive officer of Wainwright Securities, Inc., and treasurer of Vanderbilt University. He received a B.S. in business administration and an M.A. in economics from West Virginia University and the Chartered Financial Analyst designation from the CFA Institute.
